The starting section of Full Flangellation V8/7B+ Photo: Owen Hayward

Owen Hayward has been busy again at Porth Ysgo climbing a pair of intense traverse lines.

First up was the extended start to his own problem Flangellation (Full Flangellation) bumping the grade to a pumpy and technical V8/7B+. This starts sitting on right side of the face with hands on obvious holds in a black seam just left of the arete. Keeping below the lip, follow the obvious line of edges left to the big jug (start of original line) and continue as for Flangellation.

With that in the bag Owen turned his attention to a big link on the adjacent boulder. Rawhide follows the lip traverse of Problem 8 (area 2) to the arete (junction with Problem 7) then continues along the lip leftwards to join Ble Mae Charlie/GWP at the lip hold you slap for from their shared sit start, before finishing as per GWP leftwards to its grungy finishing mantel. V6/7 and great, pumpy sloper action with a crux right at the end.
