Rob Mirfin has climbed the impressive highball project line on the boulder beneath Craig yr Ogof in Cwm Silyn. Fred`s Dead V7/Font 7a+ takes the high wall right of the Inside Edge arête (V4/Font 6b), and just left of the rightward trending The Slot Machine sds V4/Font 6b+.

Rob explained: “You start on some crimpy seams and get an obvious 3 finger side pull with your left. Then it’s feet up and a lurch for a flat hold below the top. I thought it would be over once I’d got this hold, but it’s still tricky to gain the top, as there doesn’t seem to be many good footholds. We had only taken my thin old mat too, so it felt a bit scary.”
