Adam Hocking showing his new sequence on Clyde V12/Font 8a+ photos: Si Panton

.

Yesterday afternoon Adam Hocking made the 2nd ascent of Gaz Parry’s new problem, Clyde V12/Font 8a+ in Parisella’s Cave. Adam worked out a different sequence for the crux using a ‘bicycle’ toe clamp, which allowed him to reach an undercut pinch on the lip of the roof (left hand), and then make a dynamic snatch for the high jug with his right hand. Regardless of the differing method, Adam confirmed the grade.

Adam also offered a new name for his recent V11/Font 8a addition to the Cromlech Boulders: Breathe (That’ll be track 2 on Fat of the Land, rather than the rumoured track 1.)
