Pete Robins on the first ascent of Spiderpig back in 2016 photo: Si Panton

Ferdia Earle has climbed a direct version of Spiderpig starting up the middle of the slab just left of Spiderman Direct instead of coming in along the diagonal crack. Ferdia felt Spiderpig vs Cokepug was a plus grade harder than the original, but still only 7A. She also felt that Spiderman was undergraded at 6C.

To be clear, the suggestion is that Spiderpig and Spiderman are both 6C+, albeit at different ends of the grade band. It’ll be interesting to see what others think as these grades settle with more ascents.
