Neil Dyer’s new problem, Crouching Start, Hidden Foothold (V9) takes the obvious low start beneath the end of Ultimate Retro Party in the Cromlech Lefthand area.

As the title suggests, Neil started it from a semi crouching position (it would be sitting if you used a thick pad), blasting out from a tricky Egyptian position to match poor slopers at the first lip. A right hand exit can be made from here at an easier grade (V8+), but the direct version pulls through (somewhat gingerly) with a left hand finger jam into the finishing holds of URP.

Neil reckoned that it was of similar difficulty to the nearby Bus Stop – that’ll be top end V9 then!
