Dave Noden returned (with Jack Rattenbury) for the third day on the trot to mop up yet more plum lines on the Boss Cuvier block in the Beddgelert Forest. First off he climbed the big right to left link; another sure fire classic, Black Cuvier rates V8/7B+, however shorter climbers may struggle on the initial span of Black Spot (which is a shame as these are some of the best moves on the boulder).

Next was Boss Spot V8/9/7B+/C, which is essentially the full left to right link of the block, and another bona fide classic which may be become popular with those who find the Vision aręte finish impossible.

And lastly, Dave climbed Clear Spot sans block V8/7B+; this eliminate line points to a further level of opportunity for development on this boulder. Thus far all problems have made use of the wedged blocks which sit underneath the main boulder. Eliminating these changes the character of the climbing significantly, offering what is effectively an entirely different problem. More proof, if it were needed, that this is the ultimate ‘system boulder’!
