NWB.com editor Si Panton stood beneath another future classic. Photo: Olly Wright

This month Big G has taken a break. Fair play, he has been very busy finishing off his new film Upside Down Wales. (For further details of this wonderful film and some sneak previews go to alhughes.tv).

The Boulder of the Month show does go on though; whilst stomping about in the mountains with Olly Wright (an old friend from Yorkshire and erstwhile king of the early 90s Northern IBL) we discovered an amazing and apparently unclimbed wall featuring immaculate rock, a good landing and a clutch of strong lines, the best of which I am stood underneath in the photo on the right.

I will reveal the location next week; my gift to North Wales climbers. It will be interesting to see if anybody can guess its whereabouts. The only clue I will give is that it sits clearly visible and adjacent to a major mountain path. So send in your guesses – no prizes, save for the respect of the boulder hunting fraternity.

My guess is that the central line will go at something in the region of V7/7a+ - V10/7c+. The landing is good, in fact one pad would probably suffice.
