The day after Doylo climbed Flashpoint, Matt Georgiou climbed the obvious line up the shallow scoop just to its right.

Between the Doyle and the Deep Blue Sea V7/7a+ also goes from a standing start, and despite its innocent appearance yields only to some very powerful and tricky moves. The first ascent did not go without incident; on the ‘easy’ top out Matt pulled an undercut off and barndoored outwards with a look of pure horror on his face. Somehow he controlled the spin with his other hand and regained full contact with rock.

Matt has been a regular face on the Ormes for the last few years, steadily working his way through the bench mark classics. He is always psyched and keen to check out new areas. It is good to see him pulling off such a quality first ascent.
