Simon Peters has climbed a surprisingly obvious line slap bang in the middle of perhaps the most popular area at Porth Ysgo. Simon’s Arete V6/7/7a/+ takes the arête right of The Ysgo Flange block from a standing start holding the arete and a good side pull. A throw up and right to a slopey crimp on a shoulder precedes a heel hook manoeuvre around the arete and a slap up leftwards for a good diagonal crimp and thus the top.

Asking around a few locals, it seems that everyone was aware of the possibility, but that no-one had actually done it before. As a wise man once said: ‘It never ends!’
