Sam Cattell has climbed a superb new line at Cwm Trwsgl. Ynysig (7C) can be found below the big face up above the Egg Aręte boulder.

”It's called Ynysig, which is Welsh for Isolated. Called it this due to the location and the crux move, which involves isolating your right arm. Graded 7C but could be easier for someone with a bigger reach as your arm might be more bent. But who knows? Felt as hard as other 7Cs I’ve done recently.”

Said Sam, before adding:

”Anyway it’s on perfect dolerite pinches and the moves are quality. Three star moves, Three star rock, but only a two star line. Unfortunately you can't really top out as the landing drops away.”

The problem starts sitting, left hand on the bottom of the sidepull rail, right on the lowest pinch/sidepull as seen in the picture. Slap up the rib feature using sidepulls and pinches until a big reach out right gains the good edge. Match the good edge and head up and right using a sloper, an edge and sidepulls to gain the ledge. Drop off. It's 6B from the good edge, and there is a powerful sitting start to the right called Ynys Ynysig (6C). Pull on with your left hand on a slopey ledge, and right on a sidepull. Move your right hand up to an edge then gain a sidepull with your left. Gain the ledge and drop off.
