Last night saw the launch party for the new Hongian bouldering website at Cell B in Blaenau Ffestiniog. An excited crowd gathered as Cell B main man and Hongian project manager, Rhys Roberts, unveiled the different aspects of this new bilingual website.

NWB readers will be pleased to hear that the website includes a series of mini guides (ten in total) to bouldering venues clustered around each of the towns of Blaenau and Bethesda.

The mini guides have been produced by Simon Panton and can be printed off as pdf documents or just viewed on smart phone screens at the crag. Simon was suitably enthusiastic about the website launch:

“This is a great site and these mini guides are an excellent showcase for the bouldering that can be found in North Wales, particularly in some of the less well known areas. I hope they inspire both locals and visitors to get out there and try some new areas.”

Simon is currently working on producing a new printed bouldering guidebook to the whole of North Wales, i.e. the 2nd edition of the popular North Wales Bouldering guide - this is getting closer to the finishing line and will be published in the 2015/16 winter season. The first edition of the NWB printed guide has sold out, although old copies do occasionally pop up on Ebay.
