Owen Hayward remains uncured from his obsession with the Gwynant Roadbloc, and who can blame him when the climbing is so good! This week he completed two more fierce, power-draining links that push developments into the 7C grade.

Hit the Kill 7C follows Hit the Sea but keeps trucking round the arete with a hard match on the slopey flatty before moving right to finish up Roadkill.

Bloc Kill 7C follows Roadbloc sds to gain the pinch/finger slot then heads right round the arete to finish up Roadkill (as for Hit the Kill).

Bruno Marks made quick work of the second ascent of Bloc Kill, confirming the grade.

After a few more repeats and the emergence of better sequences Owen has tweaked some of the original grades. Check out his updated topo for more on this, and do get in touch with opinions on the grades – it will all help to make the forthcoming 2nd edition of the guide more accurate.
