Jack showing the way on Ratt-arete 7A+ Photos: Joe Sterling

On Sunday Jack Rattenbury climbed the attractive diagonal aręte running along the lip of the Ratt Roof.

Ratt-arete 7A+ starts sitting on a boulder just to the right of the finish of Poly the Filla, with slopers for hands. It finishes by topping out the boulder as per Ratt Roof so is quite a long problem.

“A two star problem; great holds and moves!” said Jack after the ascent.

There are now twenty grade 7 + 8 problems at this venue, and all on perfect rough dolerite!
