Dave Noden has cleaned up a rather excellent project line at Caseg Fraith in the Ogwen Valley. Repeat after me is the stand up line on the right side of the ultra steep Boneyard wall/overhang. The lip of the overhang is accessed via a distinctly hopeful jumping start: a desperate double-handed catch of a repellent sloping pinch that marks both the start and likely finish for the average Joe. Strong and determined types – having held out against the dislodging power of the swing - face more frantic footless campus board action leading into easier ground on the headwall.

Obviously the difficulty of the starting move is height dependant, Dave reckoned that for him it was V10, but shorter climbers may find a ‘stumpy’s grade’ of V11 less damaging to the ego. The sit down start to Repeat after me is a well-known project line that has been inspected by the likes of John Gaskins (who reckoned it wasn’t on!) – it does appear to be more of a visual line than a reality, at least for the current generation, as strong as they are.
