Tyler Landman going for it on Louis Armstrong Photos: Chris Doyle

.

.

Ex pat youth cranker, Tyler Landman has landed in Wales and has already made quite an impression, making fast repeats of two of the recent crop of hard new problems. Firstly he took a visit to the Sheep Pen Boulders in the Ogwen Valley where he nipped up the classic Jerry’s Problem (reckoning hard V10/7c+) in a couple of goes before crushing Chris Davies’s recent addition, Compact Culture. Chris originally gave the line V13/8b, but Tyler reckoned top end V12/8a+ was more accurate.

Tyler then went back to Parisella’s Cave where he managed the coveted second ascent of Louis Armstrong, Danny Cattell’s desperate power problem. Danny had graded the line V12/8a+, but this time Tyler reckoned that it was worth bottom end V13/8b.
