The Breck Road area, up the hill from Parisella’s Cave is becoming the place to be. Today saw another new problem fall to Si Panton, who climbed the line just left of Burning Sphincter. Cockney Nutjob V6/7a climbs up into the bottom of the hanging groove (as for the start of the Happy New Year start, but with a different hand sequence) before grappling round the bulge to the right to gain the top left holds on Burning Sphincter and reaching the good holds up left on top of the prow.
“ Another great addition on what is rapidly becoming my favourite crag at the moment. This one builds with sustained difficulty (although no real stopper moves) to a nervey finish, which feels a bit ‘goey’. Ian Wyatt fell off from the last move and landed on his side, but was okay, so I guess it’s not truly highball.” commented Si after the successful ascent.
Watch this space for a topo diagram explaining all the new and old lines in the Breck Road area.
