We are sometimes challenged within this eccentric sport, and an ascent of Antidiseslopishmentarianism on the southern shoulder of Moel Faban (gr 632678) above Rachub/Bethesda is no exception to the rule. The first feat is the problem itself (indeed staff at Boulder of the Month haven’t quite topped out on the problem as we go to press). The next issue is the embarrassment of actually meeting the steely stare of passing hill walkers as one grovels at the base of this non-too huge block. The views to the west are of course extremely rewarding, as and when the cloud base sees fit to rise sufficiently. Hey if it was a wind-up I’d have saved it for another 30 days wouldn’t I!
