Pete Robins made an impressive flashed ascent of a new 10m roof crack in the Milestone Buttress Boulders. Patch Hammond had spotted the awesome line a few weeks earlier and rumours of its magnificence spread quickly. When Pete arrived to have a look last Saturday afternoon there was already 15 other climbers waiting for a pop at the big prize.

Pete described it thus,

“It’s solid burly 5c every move for 10m, with lots of hanging from just your feet, fists, knee bars, body jams etc. Better than any other crack in North Wales!”

"Further ascents came from Patch, George Smith, Ug, Miles, Ding Dong, and so nearly Commander Cranefly! It was then reversed for fun by Patch. The line was so good, it kept about 10 people entertained for a whole day!"

As for the grade of Dangleberries, Pete was typically (and perhaps comically) conservative,

“It’s tough to offer a grade for such a thing, 5.9/HVS/V4/5c? – a proper work out though!”

Dangleberries is located about 20-30m beyond Marilyn Munro. (assuming you've come over the stile)Its about 2m above the deck, and open at both ends and has a good landing (need a few pads and a spotter). Just above it is a very low (but attractive) lip traverse.

Photos will be posted soon.
